Summary :
The novella starts out with a flash back of how the protagonist , Snow , got his name in middle school. It also states why he likes snow and the positive connotation to snow. Snow lives in D.C and he is a thug/gangster. He wants to get out of the "game" but he's stuck, not only because he is to used to these bad habits but also because he is too deep into it. Snow has a daughter and is married to a lawyer. His wife is used to Snow's habits because her father was into the same business as snow. Snow attempts to rob these men who are also doing illegal business and ends up getting chased by the police and fleeing the scene. Snow refuses to go home empty handed, so he robs a drug warehouse. So in this robbery he ends up killing everyone in the building except for a crying baby who reminded him of his own. Snow left the scene with the money, his guns, a gun shot wound, and the thought of that baby on his mind .
- I find it interesting how each section begins with Snow talking about snow.
Quote :
" It ain't that I wanted to be selling death for cash " ( Jasper 4 ).
Reaction :
Snow uses a metaphor when comparing drugs to death. He lets it be known that he sells drugs in this sentence. He obviously knows that its a bad thing to do but he continues to do it, not because he has to just because he wants to and hes used to these " hood " habits. Even though Snow claims he doesnt want to sell drugs , he does because he has other options, his wife is a lawyer.

do you find it realistic for a lawyer to be involved with a man who has a violent involvement with selling drugs?
ReplyDeleteHow does "snow" fit this character?
It depends on the situation , but normally i would think that's unrealistic.
ReplyDelete- Snow is cold just as Snow ( Andre ) is. Another reason it fits his character is because snow is usually soft and Snow is definitely soft deep with in .
